University of the Incarnate Word

The Extended Academic Programs from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) provides continuous educational opportunities for working adults seeking to advance in their career by obtaining a college degree. Class scheduling is flexible to fit the lifestyle of busy adults with six 8-week terms offered every year. This provides students the option to complete as many as 36 credits in twelve months. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in the classroom at our seven ADCaP centers or completely online with UIW Online. Classes are accelerated and taught by scholar-practitioners with real-world experience and quality instruction. Tuition is discounted for adult students and there are no academic fees. We also offer free textbooks for undergraduates and all active duty military. Choose from 16 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, administration, criminal justice, psychology, human resources, education, health sciences, or nursing. Concentrations are available in areas that include healthcare administration, project management, accounting, management, social marketing, and criminal investigation. The Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCaP) offers five convenient locations throughout San Antonio, 1 in Corpus Christi and 1 in Killeen/Fort Hood, Texas. For New Braunfels residents, the Northeast Center at Rolling Oaks Mall and the Alamo University Center on Pat Booker Road and I-35 give you easy access to a wide range of class options each term. Classes are offered weeknights and Saturdays. Each learning center is fully staffed with an advisor to provide students the tools and services needed to get started and to continue their path to a degree. If you can’t attend classes in person, we offer UIW Online with classes taught 100% online every six weeks. Through UIW Online it is possible to participate in classes around your schedule. Active-duty military and veterans receive special rates with the University of the Incarnate Word Extended Academic Programs. We are a 2016-17 Yellow Ribbon School and have earned several 2016 top-ranked “military friendly” designations from military organizations. Our tuition for active-duty military is at the tuition assistance cap and, with free textbooks and no fees, there are no out-of-pocket expenses.
