Chair of the Board Award
This award is designed to honor those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community in a specific field of civic endeavor. No more than six recipients may be named in a calendar year.
It is designed to give recognition to those persons who may not have been active over a long period of time, or whose activity may have been directed in only one category. The prospective awardee may not be eligible for the Besserung Award or the Hall of Honor Award, but deserves some type of honor for voluntary participation in a specific field of community work. This does not mean the candidate could not be well qualified for consideration in other award categories, only that they are not necessarily related.
The awardee is presented a letter from the Chair of the Board at a Board of Directors meeting, then presented a plaque at the Annual Banquet. The selection committee is made up of the Immediate Past Chair, Chair of the Board, and Chair-Elect.
