The Chamber’s Hispanic Business Alliance had to host their Dia de los Muertos celebrations a little differently this year. One thing they were able to continue with was their annual Dia de los Muertos art contest. This year the contest was open for public participation instead of only current art students. The HBA received 19 submissions from people all over the greater New Braunfels area.
The winner of the art contest is selected by a panel of judges made up of the HBA and Dia de los Muertos Steering Committee members. Names, ages, and any revealing information is not visible to the judges. The overall winner of the 2020 Dia de los Muertos art contest is Rylee Rosales from New Braunfels High School, with Art Teacher Shannon Legg. The winning artwork selected will be used for marketing and promotion of the 2021 Dia de los Muertos festival in New Braunfels.
