Plans for Chamber Banquet Set

Published Monday, November 30, 2020 10:00am

The Chamber’s 102nd Annual Banquet is set for Friday, January 29, 2021 in the New Braunfels Civic Convention Center. In light of the pandemic, extra precautions are being taken to help ensure a safe environment and event. Chamber members will hopefully understand the capacity limits for the event, but be proud of the “shop local” opportunities included this year.

The entire Civic Center facility will be utilized to allow proper CDC guidelines for social distancing. Tables will be in long rows of 10 guests to accommodate spacing, and the ballroom and meeting rooms will be utilized along with the Exhibit Hall for seating. The program will be shortened to minimize the time spent indoors and there will not be a social hour prior to the dinner.

A large portion of the major sponsor and table sponsorship sales will go toward vouchers for each attendee to utilize at local merchants. “We thought this was a great way to kick off 2021 by continuing our emphasis on the importance of shopping local,” stated Chamber President Michael Meek.

Information regarding major sponsorship and table sales will be sent to Chamber members later this week. Meek ends, “We will be honoring many volunteers at the event as in past years as well as announcing the winner of the Besserung Award, or citizen of the year. The event will be a little different than past years, but a safer and impactful evening for all attendees.”
