New Braunfelsers Ready to Help

Published Monday, September 4, 2017 3:00pm

The events of the last week with Hurricane Harvey remind all New Braunfelsers of past flood tragedies and challenges. There are multiple ways to help our fellow Texans and we encourage you to do so.

This tragedy hit close to home for me and my wife, as our hometowns of Rockport and Aransas Pass respectively were hit head on by Harvey and suffered much damage. Growing up on the coast in the 60’s there were frequent hurricanes and tropical storms, but not any of substance for the last 47 years.

Every day presents new challenges with recovery, but recovery does come. I know the Rockport Chamber of Commerce will provide the needed leadership required for a “back to business” attitude soon. After all, that’s what Chambers do.
