Visitors and residents alike enjoyed a long holiday weekend this past Memorial Day. River flows were optimal on both the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers, which helped tremendously. Prime Guadalupe river flows not only provide a huge relief for public safety but also allow for the Comal River to not be overcrowded. This balance is ideal for guest experience.

Schlitterbahn celebrates their 40th Anniversary this year, and the weekend was fantastic with visitors! The waterpark stays true to its slogan of being the “hottest, coolest, waterpark in Texas!”

The Downtown Farmer’s Market and live music lineup throughout the district set the stage for a diverse cultural weekend with exposure to multiple genres and opportunities. Gruene Historic District was hoppin’ with shoppers, floaters, diners, and dancers all taking advantage of our nationally registered historic district.

Natural Bridge Caverns, Wildlife Ranch, breweries, wineries, and theatres were all opening officially for summer with the long weekend.

New Braunfels is thankful to have the Parks, Police Department, Fire Department, and Sheriff’s Officers spend long hours keeping our community and guests safe. Happy Summer!
