San Antonio, TX —The GVTC Board of Directors welcomed a new member at the 2022 Annual Meeting. Kevin Owens was voted in to serve as a director of District III, which serves the Balcones, Kenberg, and Sabina areas. Owens has been a GVTC customer for eight years and resides in the Boerne area.

Owens holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He has 40 years of oil and gas industry experience, 32 of which were in several international locations, including Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Denmark, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia (Siberia), Trinidad, and Venezuela. In 2020, he was recognized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers with a Distinguished Achievement Award for his outstanding leadership across operations, personal and process safety, reliability, maintenance, production, and financial results.

In his community, Owens serves as a director on the board for his local POA. He and his wife of 38 years, Dana, have lived in rural Boerne since 2014. Kevin retired from Chevron in 2020. They have two grown daughters living in the general area.

Owen's background in mega operations, experience with numerous diverse cultures, desire to serve the community, and prior experience on other international non-profit boards allow him to be an effective and active member of the GVTC board.

“After living overseas for the majority of my life, I wanted to find an opportunity to give back to the community I am a part of now, and GVTC is the perfect fit. I am excited and humbled to be chosen to serve as a director at this incredible company”, said Owens.
