Ready to Take on the Future

Last month I introduced myself as the 2017 Chair of the Board of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and talked about the crossroads the city of New Braunfels was negotiating. Now as we experience the ups and downs of another Central Texas winter and we watch as the plants and animals around us start their transitions to a Spring of growth…I am reminded that the City of New Braunfels and Comal County are doing the same.

To help navigate these ups and downs we have assembled a very diverse Board of Directors whose members have backgrounds in many different areas. Our Executive Committee is comprised of myself, Chair-Elect Robin Jeffers of J & R Gymnastics, Vice-Chair Shane Wolf of Rockin ‘R’ River Rides, Vice-Chair Wes Studdard of Bluebonnet Motors, Immediate Past-Chair Natalie Rougeux of Rougeux & Associates PLLC, and our President, Michael Meek. I am very honored to work with this great group of people and feel blessed that they feel the same as I do in that giving back to New Braunfels is a priority.

The rest of our Board of Directors is comprised of 18 people from a cross-section of our community that gives the Chamber Board a balanced view when discussing the issues of New Braunfels and the surrounding area. We have the following sectors of the business community covered with our 2017 Board of Directors…Hospitality, Business Services, Healthcare, Banking, Non-Profit, Manufacturing, Energy, Education, Real Estate and Justice. I believe this group will help us truly “Link Business and Community Success” and continue the tradition of the New Braunfels business community giving back to the citizenry that supports them.

As the City and County continues to grow exponentially, we will have to face some tough decisions in New Braunfels as we are joined by more friends, family and visitors that find out that our City is a great place to live, work and play. These decisions will center around roads, growing school districts, growing businesses, new industries, the need for more offerings and services, and conservation to just name a few.

Your Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and our hard working staff with more than 200 years of experience, is focused on partnering with our elected officials and municipal and county staffs to present transparent and factual information. We truly want to help facilitate the open discussion of these challenging issues that we all face.
