Council to Hear Dry Comal Creek/Comal River Watershed Protection Plan Presentation

City-Logo whiteThe New Braunfels City Council will meet Monday, July 24 at 6:00 p.m. for their Regular Meeting at 550 Landa Street. If not attending, the meeting can be viewed on Chamber member Spectrum Enterprise Channel 21 or AT&T U-Verse channel 99. The agenda includes 13 items on the consent agenda and 11 Individual Items For Consideration.

The meeting will begin with a presentation on the Dry Comal Creek/Comal River Watershed Protection Plan. The Consent Agenda includes the appointment of five individuals to the New Braunfels Partnership Committee, a lease agreement to provide public parking in Downtown, a contract for the construction and remodel of Fire Station #1, two Right of Way purchases, repealing portions of the Vehicles for Hire ordinance to comply with new state legislation, the creation of school speed zones for Voss Farms Elementary and Veramendi Elementary, and rezoning of 74 acres for the Weltner Farms Planned Development District, among other items.

The Individual Items for Consideration include a grant application for more than $1.4 million to implement management measures identified in the Dry Comal Creek/Comal River Watershed Protection Plan, the 2017 Community Development Block Grant One-Year Action Plan and Fair Housing Plan, an ordinance restricting personal grills in city parks, an expenditure of up to $125,000 for a project to create and retain 80 jobs, rezoning 25.98 acres for the White Wing Enclave Planned Development District, consideration of a new Downtown logo and tagline, and naming an alternate to the Alamo Area Council of Governments Board of Directors, among other items.
