City Council to Consider Fiinancial Incentives to Create New Jobs

The New Braunfels City Council will meet Monday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. for their Regular Meeting at 550 Landa Street. If not attending, the meeting can be viewed on Spectrum Enterprise channel 21 or AT&T U-Verse channel 99. The agenda includes two presentations, eight items on the Consent Agenda, three of which are ordinances, and seven Individual Items For Consideration including the potential approval of New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation to provide financial incentives for the creation and retention of up to 200 new jobs.

The meeting will begin with a presentation on wireless communication systems, and the City of Seguin’s request for ETJ exchange with the City of New Braunfels.

The Consent Agenda includes the approval of a contract for the purchase of Direct Digital Controls of the HVAC system at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center, a sanitary sewer easement agreement between the City of New Braunfels and New Braunfels Utilities new Fischer Park, and the final reading of the proposed rezoning to apply a Special Use Permit to allow a bed and breakfast facility on Market Avenue, among other items.

The Individual Items for Consideration include the ordinance to adopt the City of New Braunfels Comprehensive Plan: Envision New Braunfels, two resolutions recommended by the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation to provide up to $600,000 in financial incentives to Titan, LLC and up to $500,000 in financial incentives to Season Group USA LLC for the creation and retention of up to 200 new jobs, and direction to staff regarding legislative priority recommendations for the upcoming 2019 Legislative Session, among other items.
