The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Stephen Brockman joined their team as Vice President of Leadership and Small Business Programs last week. Brockman is filling the position after Laurie Wehring announced her new position with New Braunfels Utilities last month. The responsibilities of this position include the Business Trade Show, Small Business Week, Business Advisory, and the Leadership New Braunfels Youth, Adult and Alumni programs among other programs, projects and events.
Brockman has 15 years of experience in military, manufacturing, and entrepreneurial leadership. He was previously President of Brockman Capital here in the community. Serving as a field artillery officer in the US Army for four years, he is also a graduate of Texas A&M University where he played football. After his service to the nation, Brockman worked for Eaton Corporation in Memphis and Houston. He became an Edward Jones Financial Advisor prior to opening his own firm last year.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with the team at the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce,” said Brockman. “Laurie Wehring’s leadership and the programs she manages has been instrumental in the success of so many businesses in our community. I will work hard to continue her legacy of excellence.”
Brockman is a member of the New Braunfels Noon Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, the New Braunfels Jaycees, a Communities in Schools Mentor, and a graduate of Leadership New Braunfels.
“It was clear to our selection and interview team that Stephen was the right person to fill this role,” said Chamber President Michael Meek. “I am confident that he will carry on the tradition that Laurie, and before her Rita Powell and Bonnie Tetrault, built with these great programs.”
