AKIN, DOHERTY, KLEIN & FEUGE, P.C., NAMES MANAGING PARTNER AND COO
New leadership will continue the firm’s mission of providing superior client service.
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS- Akin, Doherty, Klein & Feuge, P.C. (ADKF) announced on, Monday, July 1, 2019, two new leadership positions. Scott C. Kopecky, CPA, has been named Managing Partner and Joseph A. Hernandez, CPA, as Chief Operating Officer. 
Scott started his tenure with ADKF 22 years ago as a tax staff accountant with the firm. His past 16 years as a tax partner has groomed him to become Managing Partner of the largest locally owned accounting firm in San Antonio. He has extensive tax experience and specializes in individual, estate, gift, and closely-held business taxation. His new role as Managing Partner will enable the firm to reach long-range goals and continue the firm’s legacy of providing excellent client service – the cornerstone on which the firm was founded. Scott is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Joe is also a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio and has been with the firm for 17 years. As the director of the firm’s audit practice, Joe has expertise in a broad range of industries, including benefit plans, construction, manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, oil and gas, real estate, retail/wholesale, and SEC registrants. Joe will be instrumental in implementing collaborative initiatives as the firm looks to the future.
Founded in 1991, the partners have worked diligently to put in place a succession plan that will continue the firm’s mission and cores values. Tom Akin said, “Our founding partners, which includes David Doherty, Howard Klein, and myself, have now put into practice what we preach to our clients every day: for a business to continue, there must be a succession plan, and the plan must be fair and equitable to both leadership and staff.
